Fennel (Sweet Florence)

Sow 1cm (^1/2") deep in rows 45cm (1^1/2ft) apart, thin to a final spacing of 30cm (1ft). Refrain from sowing until late April as any check to its growth will result in bolting. Water in dry weather and earth up bulbs during the summer.
