Dwarf in habit, branching with large, colourful, scented flowers.

Generally sown in the greenhouse with or without heat, from January to early April. Prick out into trays or cells when large enough to handle. Transplant into beds when all risk of frost has gone. They flower from June onwards. Usually used for summer bedding plants, these only survive one season.  

Popular as a bedding and border plant. They generally have green-grey leaves and have dense flower spikes, which emit a lovely scent. Sow at 15-20ºC (59-68ºF) cover with thin layer of vermiculite or compost.
