Hardy Annual

(250 seeds)

Height 30cm/12"
Good for cut flowers
Can be sown in September for flowers in early Spring

This variety has a compact habit with large colourful flowers, ranging from creamy yellow to bright orange.

Normally sown in situ from March onwards when soil conditions allow. Usually flowering from June until the frosts kill them. For earlier flowers many species can be sown in September and overwintered in mild areas. Hardy annuals are generally easy to grow, quick to flower and are great for filling in gaps. However large or small your garden they represent great value for money.

This used to be a very popular kitchen herb and is more commonly known as a Pot Marigold. These plants grow really well in poor soil conditions and can grow equally well in the sun or in partial shade. Calendula tend to produce masses of flower heads about their hairy leaves. Sow seeds September or March in situ and thin as required. Pinch out shoots to encourage bushiness.
